Discover Malaysia’s Telecommunication History
About
Muzium Telekom Malaysia represents the first national interactive telecommunications experience centre. You can dive deep into the history of telecommunications in Malaysia, showcasing the evolution of technology from ancient systems to the digital revolution.

A Historical Landmark
The Muzium Telekom building, constructed in 1928, originally served as an office for the manual telephone exchange. In the early 1980s, it was repurposed to store telephone equipment in Kuala Lumpur. Recognizing its historical significance, former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad proposed in 1985 that the building be preserved as a national heritage site. Consequently, Telekom Malaysia transformed it into a museum.
A Journey Through Time
Inside the museum, visitors are greeted with fascinating displays, artefacts, and replicas that illustrate the birth and evolution of telecommunications in Malaysia. As you navigate through the various floors, you will encounter a unique blend of historical charm and modern technology, with each room dedicated to a different era or aspect of telecommunications technology.

Overall
Telekom Museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and technology buffs alike. Not only does it offer a captivating glimpse into the past, but it also provides a fascinating look at the technological advancements that have transformed the way we communicate.
